6 or So Months In

What an arrogant man I am………. When I first started the National Ferreters Register I thought I was the only ferreter who treated their ferrets with a kind hand and enjoyed there company in the field and at home, I thought I was the only one who wanted the art of ferreting to go on generation after generation, I firmly believed that no one would help me in my quest to pass on our skills to youngsters as our fathers did us and to help explain to all,  how a fit, happy, well fed ferret will hunt as well as, indeed better than  a mistreated, starving, sack of bones, as my grandfather always seemed to believe…….. As I said I was arrogant, but I now realise there are thousands of like minded ferreters, some of whom have joined the NFR as AC’s or Advisors to help keep my feet on the ground. To all those members, advisers and AC’s , I thank you, not for proving me arrogant, but for making me feel all we are doing in the The National Ferreters Register is right for the sport, right for the ferrets and right for the future.

We have had four complaints since we started, two for sending out too many emails and two for not responding fast enough to emails, all of which are valid complaints and to those people you have my apologies but remember this……

We have re-homed over 780 ferrets to ferreters throughout the UK

We have helped over 900 people who have come across ferrets in daily life

We have trained over 60 kids with BASC

We are Saturday, going to train 25 more through our own Ferreters Day and 25 more in February

We have become a NOT for Profit Limited Company

We have a network of Area Coordinators

We have an Adviser system

We have a forum to help others and discuss our days

We have a code of practise which helps new starters

We have a Laws section, keeping us all advised

What a success! and that is all down to people believing and trusting in an arrogant mans’ ideas……
