Rural drivers will suffer with new road pricing policy |
||||||||
|
In spite of the impact it will undoubtedly have on the rural motorist, whose car is essential in areas of little or no public transport, the Government is proposing to introduce a road pricing policy that will require all drivers to purchase a tracking device for their car and pay a monthly bill to use it. The tracking device will cost about £200 and a recent study by the BBC showed the lowest monthly bill was £28 for a rural florist and £194 for a delivery driver. In addition, the study showed that a non-working mother who used the car to take her children to school would pay £86 per month. On top of this massive increase in tax, you will be tracked so somebody will know where you are at all times. They will also know the speed at which you have been travelling so if you accidentally creep over a speed limit you can expect a fine and penalty points with your monthly bill. If you care about our freedom, especially that of the rural driver or the country sports enthusiasts who have to travel sometimes significant distances, please register your opposition by adding your name to the petition on No 10's new website at http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/traveltax/ and tell your friends about it. |
